Completion of a certified apprenticeship training program in welding from an accredited college or vocational school may be substituted for two years of the required work experience. Possession of a valid Class C driver license. Possession of a valid Class B driver license is highly desirable. Mechanic Welders Job in New York

Transmission Operations is looking for experienced mechanic welders with a minimum of 2 yrs of welding experience including, reading and understanding welding procedures; qualification with ASME B31.1, API 1104 Codes using shielded metal arc welding and/or gas tungsten arc welding; and fabricating piping from layouts, blueprints and mechanical drawings; must demonstrate skill in welding of pressure piping, oxygen/acetylene cutting of steel plates and piping, brazing and soldering. Must possess burning license and fireguard, and obtain and maintain asbestos handler certificate. Must be medically approved to wear a respirator. Must be able to work a rotating shift and overtime as needed.
